TRANSFORMER OIL CAS# 64742-53-6
Hydrogenated light naphthenic distillate (CAS 64742-53-6) is a distillate product extracted from petroleum.
In terms of physical properties, it is usually a transparent, colorless to light yellow liquid with low volatility and certain viscosity. In terms of chemical composition, it mainly contains cycloalkane compounds. After hydrogenation, the content of impurities such as sulfur and nitrogen is significantly reduced, which improves its stability and performance.
This distillate has many uses in industry. For example, in the field of lubricants, it can be used as a component of base oil to provide good lubrication and stability; in the chemical industry, it can be used as a raw material or solvent for the production of certain chemicals.

TRANSFORMER OIL Usage And Synthesis |
Definition | TRANSFORMER OIL is a complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained by treating a petroleum fraction with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst. It consists of hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly in the range of C15 through C30 and produces a finished oil with a viscosity of less than 100 SUS at 100.degree.F (19cSt at 40.degree.C). It contains relatively few normal paraffins. |
Flammability and Explosibility | Non flammable |
Safety Profile | Confirmed carcinogen with experimental neoplastigenic data. Low toxicity by ingestion and skin contact. A severe skin irritant. When heated to decomposition it emits acrid smoke and irritating fumes. |
