Amides, coco, N-(hydroxyethyl) also known as coconut oil monoethanolamide or COCAMIDE MEA, is a nonionic surfactant. It is usually present as a white to beige powder or solid with a slight odor. This compound is easily soluble in water, has good resistance to hard water, acids and alkalis, and is stable to common electrolytes. It has excellent properties in washing, penetration and foaming, and has good emulsification, leveling and softening properties. It has a melting point of 65 – 67??C and is usually stored at -20??C under refrigeration and in an inert atmosphere.
